“The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow (Ecclesiastes 1:18 NLT).”

When I first read that scripture, I realised just how wise King Solomon was. That truly is the greatest piece of wisdom. All that Solomon asked for was wisdom, he was the wisest man in the Bible. After gaining all of the wisdom that he did, he shared this piece of advice with us. Wisdom at times can be a burden. We can be better off not knowing certain things because as Solomon said knowledge only increases sorrow. One thing that I realised is that wisdom is the opposite of faith. I am not saying that they are mutually exclusive because the knowledge that we gain from our faith is an amazing piece of wisdom about Christ and His purpose. However, when it comes to explaining our faith, it takes faith for someone to believe it. Christianity is based on faith, although Christian apologetics is a good defence, appealing to someones intellect makes it harder to prove the gospel.

Just a little thought.
