No amount of candidates in a TV debate would make me want to vote. It’s not about canvassing or charismatic leaders. Don’t confuse me for another apathetic citizen because on this Thursday, I’m taking my poll card with me to the station, I’m going to leave an X (no, not a kiss), on the paper and vote.
I’m going to play my part and help my preferred candidate be the first one to pass that post, even if they don’t I tried. You see, they say that young people don’t vote so they don’t make policies to attract us. Then we say, they don’t make policies to attract to us so we don’t vote. They say, I’m stuck in a safe seat, what’s the point? Unbeknownst to them that that is what is on the mind of over half of their constituency.
I’m going to vote because I can. I’m going to vote because people fought to vote and some are still fighting. My vote might not change the world, but ours can.
