“The glory of Christ is the resurrection but you can just skip the Cross.”
He cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” With the nails pierced in to His hands and feet. With a crown of thorn placed upon His head. “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” Sentenced to dead by the very ones He came to save. Denied and betrayed by the very same people who He broke bread with. He felt alone and abandoned. He cried out. In agony and anguish. A prophetic moment yet still unbelievable. Unconceivable. They chose Him over Barabbas.
We can’t just skip the Cross. His resurrection shows His power. But the Cross shows His love. It shows His endurance. The glory of Christ is the resurrection and the Cross is His beauty. To skip passed the Cross is to skip passed it all. God in the flesh, suffering as we do. Calling out to God in our lowest moments feeling helpless. Feeling alone. Feeling abandoned. This moment was prophetic but He felt it. Unimaginable. The physical and emotional pain that He endured. God allowed Jesus to go through this because this was a part of the bigger picture.
Sometimes it can be hard to make sense of right now. But just remember this, it is right now. There will be a time where you will skip over the memory of right now and embrace where you are.
